Research Papers & Projects
My paper titled "A Short History of Solfege" was written for my Aural Skills I class with Dr. Peter Isaacson. The paper explores the origins of solfege, tracing its development from Guido of Arezzo to Nadia Boulanger, and concludes with its current use in today's music world.
Composing a Legacy is a diversity paper written about Aaron Copland for MUS 312, taught by Dr. Todd Rober. The paper discusses Copland's life, including his work, studies, and struggles with his sexuality.
Composition and Research 200 was a general education course taught by Dr. Robert Fillman. This was a semester-long research project where I had the opportunity to research my own craft. The general idea of my project looked into how the evolution of the cello impacted its sound and role within musical ensembles.
